Bigbasket Partners with Andhra Pradesh Government to Boost Organic Farming

Leading online grocer Bigbasket has signed a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Andhra Pradesh government to strengthen the organic produce supply chain. This collaboration aims to benefit organic farmers across the state and increase consumer access to fresh, sustainable, and high-quality organic products.
According to a press release from the Tata Group-owned company, the partnership will enable Bigbasket to directly source organic fruits, vegetables, and staple items from farmers in Andhra Pradesh. These products will be supplied to Bigbasket’s distribution centres nationwide, ensuring a wider reach for organic produce.
The MoU was signed in the presence of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, marking a pivotal step in boosting the organic agriculture ecosystem and supporting the livelihoods of local farmers.
As part of this initiative, Bigbasket plans to establish four new collection centres across Andhra Pradesh. These centres will facilitate the daily procurement of fresh organic produce, ensuring fair prices for farmers and better market linkage for their goods.
This partnership underscores Bigbasket’s commitment to promoting sustainable farming practices while offering consumers healthier food options. It also aligns with Andhra Pradesh’s vision to become a hub for organic agriculture.
By empowering farmers and enhancing the availability of organic products, this collaboration is set to drive growth in the organic food sector and benefit both farmers and consumers nationwide.
