Trader in Bulandshahar Arrested for Fake Milk Scam: Watch How It Was Made.

In a shocking case of food adulteration, Ajay Agarwal, a businessman from Bulandshahar, Uttar Pradesh, was arrested for producing synthetic milk using harmful chemicals. The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) raided Agarwal’s shop, Agarwal Traders, and four warehouses, confiscating premixed chemicals used to create fake milk.

Chemicals Found in Fake Milk

The seized substances included caustic potash, whey powder, sorbitol, milk permeate powder, and refined soya fats. Some artificial sweeteners had expired two years ago, raising concerns about the health risks posed to consumers.

Officials revealed that Agarwal could produce 2 liters of synthetic milk with just 5 millilitres of chemicals. By adding artificial sweeteners, flavouring agents, and other ingredients, the milk looked, smelled, and tasted real.

In a revealing video, officials showcased the process of producing synthetic milk. During the demonstration, one official combined a small quantity of a premixed white solution, described as a mix of harmful chemicals, with water. To replicate real milk, ingredients such as artificial sweeteners, milk flavouring agents, and other additives were incorporated to enhance its density and appearance. The official explained, “Additives like flavouring and sweeteners are used to make the milk appear authentic.”

Distribution Network Under Investigation

Ajay Agarwal has been suspected of selling fake milk and paneer for over 20 years. FSSAI officials demonstrated how these harmful ingredients were mixed to increase the density and mimic real milk. Authorities are now investigating his distribution network to trace where these fake dairy products were supplied in the last six months.

Impact on Food Safety

This case highlights the urgent need for stricter food safety regulations and vigilant monitoring to protect consumers from harmful adulterated products. Businesses must ensure their products comply with FSSAI standards to maintain public trust.
